Terms of Service

1. The agreement

LoreWind is an AI story engine operated by LoreWind Studios. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use LoreWind.

2. Who may use LoreWind

Your account is personal. It belongs to one person: you. Do not share your password or sign-in links, and do not let anyone else play under your account, including members of your household. LoreWind's age-check results, verification records, and content-consent choices are made by and belong to the account holder, so a shared account puts words, choices, and adult-content confirmations under a name they do not belong to. When you want to play with friends or family, use LoreWind's multiplayer: invite them to a shared story and everyone plays as themselves, each behind their own account and their own age gate. LoreWind may restrict or freeze accounts that are shared in violation of this section.

The rule runs both ways: just as one account belongs to one person, one person keeps one account. Do not create additional accounts to re-take a free trial, re-earn a one-time offer, or step around a restriction. One-time offers, including the welcome discount, belong to the first account you make with us. LoreWind may warn, or close duplicate accounts at its discretion, refunding what has not been spent by the user.

You must be 18 years or older to use LoreWind. LoreWind is an AI RPG platform built around rich lore, character dialogue, living worlds, factions, choices, and game systems. It is not designed or offered for sexual gratification in text, audio, images, video, or any other form. Its purpose is to deliver narratively coherent and genre-authentic fictional worlds. Serious or adult subject matter may appear only when it is proportionate to and contextually justified by the ongoing story, and it must go no further than that story requires. During early access this is a rule of user conduct; authoritative automated enforcement of the boundary will be required before paid launch. No paid-launch marketing or pricing surface will present NSFW or explicit-content compatibility as a subscription benefit.

A creator-selected Mature rating describes non-explicit adult themes, such as strong violence, horror, trauma, crime, profanity, political or moral complexity, sensuality, and non-explicit adult romance. It is separate from the automatic NSFW tag. LoreWind applies the NSFW tag only when its safety screen detects sexually explicit content and the player confirms the transition. Tasteful romance, kissing, sensuality, and fade-to-black intimacy do not receive that tag. Every LoreWind user must be 18 or older regardless of a story's content rating or NSFW state.

Stories written for adults sometimes go to dark or serious adult territory. Adults deserve room to engage honestly with the worlds that fit their imagination, within the boundaries on this page. Continuing generation in an NSFW-tagged story and beginning an NSFW-tagged published world require independent age assurance. Existing NSFW transcripts are sealed at their positional boundary until that check is complete. In the gallery, NSFW-tagged worlds are hidden from guests and unverified accounts, and shown only after an eligible, verified player opts in from account settings. The hosted age check is Powered by Yoti. LoreWind receives and retains only the pass-or-fail result, the method, the date, and the provider session reference, not identity documents, selfies, or estimated ages. Passing the check is permanent for the account, while access to the opt-in setting also requires an active plan or trial. You may access NSFW-tagged material only where it is lawful for you; jurisdictional enforcement will be added before paid launch.

In a solo story, when LoreWind's generation-bound input screen determines that a move would add the NSFW tag, LoreWind pauses before sending that move to the game master. Age verification establishes eligibility, but it is not consent. An already verified player is still shown what the change means for that timeline and asked whether to continue. Only affirmative confirmation applies the tag. Declining leaves the story untagged and returns the move for editing or withdrawal. Nothing has been sent to your game master, so this spends none of your Ink. The same no-Ink-use promise applies when the move is held for required age verification.

Shared and multiplayer stories may carry a Mature rating, but they must remain non-explicit and cannot become NSFW-tagged. If generation-bound input screening detects a sexually explicit multiplayer move, LoreWind rejects it before sending it to the game master or persisting or tagging it. Shared stories have no NSFW consent, age-verification, or other opt-in path; the player must revise the move. Nothing has been sent to the game master, so the attempt spends none of the player's Ink. An NSFW-tagged story cannot be shared. An owner who wants to share that world must separately fork an untagged timeline from a point before the NSFW boundary, then invite other players to that fork.

During early access, this multiplayer rule is enforced on screened timeline-mutating text inputs, which fail closed when classification is unavailable, and on the sharing and invitation boundaries. Generated narration, audio and video prompts or outputs, exports and publication boundaries, fully atomic invitation-versus-tag enforcement, stronger classifier redundancy, and legacy-data auditing remain launch work. LoreWind does not represent the boundary as fully enforced until those controls are added before paid launch.

In a solo timeline, once accepted, the NSFW tag records the last pre-NSFW point so the earlier portion can be forked separately. An NSFW-tagged timeline remains subject to age-assurance, model availability, sharing, and gallery restrictions. A published world currently inherits an existing tag from its source story; fresh generated-output, remaining world-editor generation, audio and video, export, and publication screening will be added before paid launch.

Images are always safe for work, including in an NSFW-tagged text story. LoreWind does not offer sexually explicit image generation, and images do not enter or change a story's NSFW or age-verification state. Image prompts receive a non-explicit instruction and an automated prompt precheck before they are sent to the Google image provider. A sexual, unavailable, or inconclusive prompt is skipped. An image-prompt-only block does not count toward account-freeze thresholds. Video is not an open text-to-video tool: it may animate only an existing LoreWind SFW illustration.

Relationship and sexual subject matter involving consenting adult characters may be part of a story only within the narrative limits above. Content whose primary purpose is pornography or sexual gratification is not permitted, and story context may not be used as a pretext for it. Your stories are yours to tell within these terms; the absolute prohibitions are in sections 3 and 4.

3. Absolutely prohibited: content that sexualizes a minor, or depicts one in a sexual act

Content that sexualizes a minor, or depicts one in a sexual act, is expressly prohibited in any shape or form. This covers every kind of depiction without exception: real, fictional, animated, role-played, "aged up", or framed as anything else, involving any character who is a minor or is presented as one. It applies to every part of the service: stories, worlds, characters, images, voices, video, and anything you publish or share. Depiction is the line this service enforces: description of a sexual act involving anyone under eighteen may never appear on the page, and demanding that it be written is itself a violation, whatever a fictional world's own customs, laws, or ages of majority say. A chaste kiss, nervousness, a racing heart, or anything else that would be allowed in a traditional coming-of-age story is not considered a depiction of a sexual act.

LoreWind will block requests and warn you that the request was flagged when it automatically detects requests as falling in the category of "Content that sexualizes a minor, or depicts one in a sexual act." Detection is automated and no automated system is perfect. A single confirmed block does not restrict the account by itself; a retained flag record, holding the flagged words, counts only toward the repeated-attempt thresholds and any later consented review of whether a flag was a mistake or genuine. Repeated attempts to elicit such content after you have been warned are a violation and can freeze the account as section 10 describes. Where the law requires it, violations will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

4. Other prohibited uses

• Content whose primary purpose is pornography or sexual gratification rather than genuine narrative development.
• Content that sexualizes real, identifiable people without their consent.
• Uploading an image of a real person, yourself included, to use as an image reference for characters or scenes. Reference images must depict fictional characters only.
• Using the service to harass, threaten, or defraud others.
• Uploading material you have no right to use, including voices for cloning.
• Publishing worlds to the gallery that violate any rule on this page.
• Attempting to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service.

5. Your safety

An AI model is not a mental health counselor and should never be treated as one. If you are struggling, please talk to a real person or a crisis line where you live. I do not endorse any content generated by the AI models I provide, including directions to self-harm, sexually explicit content, or violent content, in any shape or form: what the the game master writes is fiction, never advice, and never a direction to act.

If my automated systems detect signs of real self-harm or suicidal intent in a message, the message is not sent to the game master. Instead I show you crisis resources, such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US and findahelpline.com elsewhere, and the message stays yours to edit or withdraw. This detection is fully automated: I do not manually monitor or read your messages, and your privacy is respected exactly as section 6 describes. It is about your well-being, not enforcement: it never counts against your account in any way, and it never blocks you from continuing to use the service. You can keep playing immediately. Dark themes written as fiction are part of the service and are not affected.

6. Enforcement and your privacy

Your personal stories are private: I do not routinely read them, and I will not conduct a policy review without your permission unless review or disclosure is required by law. Your stories are never used to train AI models: LoreWind does not train models on your content, and sends it to third-party AI providers only to generate what you asked for, as section 8 describes. Automated systems currently screen the principal generation-bound player-request paths for sexual content involving minors, NSFW-tag transitions, and real-world self-harm signals. Independent generated-output screening and remaining world-editor generation, audio and video, export, and publication boundaries are being added before paid launch. No person is routinely looking over your shoulder while you play.

The current automated escalation freezes repeated suspected section 3 attempts. Staff review begins with redacted flags. Revealing stored text requires your permission and a recorded reason unless review or disclosure is required by law, and every reveal permanently records who looked, when, and why. Human staff may unfreeze an account without erasing its flags, exonerate it by erasing the flags and lifting the freeze together, or impose a permanent ban after review if the flags accurately reflect attempts to violate section 3 of this document. A frozen account receives an informational seven-day appeal deadline. The end of that window never causes an automatic ban.

7. Your stories are yours

You own the stories you create, and you are free to do whatever you wish with them. Export them, publish them as your own work, adapt them, sell them. I claim no ownership of your content, take no cut of anything you earn from it, and ask no permission before you take it anywhere else. You grant LoreWind only the license needed to run the service: storing your stories, generating continuations, and, when you choose to publish a world, showing it to other players.

8. AI-generated content

LoreWind's game master is powered by third-party AI models, the models a player chooses between. Their output is generated, not authored by a person, and may be inaccurate or unexpected. You are responsible for how you use what you generate.

Your requests are processed by third-party AI providers and remain subject to those providers' terms of service and acceptable-use policies. A request LoreWind permits may still be declined by the model that serves it.

Your subscription can also power an approved companion app, such as Chronicler of Kings, through LoreWind's companion API. You link the app from a signed-in LoreWind page and are shown what you are approving before it can spend anything; the same content rules, safety screening, and Ink metering apply to everything it generates. A companion session runs outside any story timeline, so explicit output there is governed by your account's age verification rather than a per-story consent step, and the absolute prohibitions in sections 3 and 4 apply unchanged.

9. Subscriptions and refunds

No payment processor is connected during early access. Once payments launch, plans, prices, cancellation terms, and the self-service refund policy will be described on the pricing page and incorporated into these terms. Purchases made through the Apple or Google stores will follow those stores' refund processes.

Subscriptions do not renew automatically unless you turn renewal on yourself: by default a plan simply ends when its month does, so there are never surprise charges. If you turn renewal on, LoreWind sends a reminder to your account email about three days before the renewal date, stating the plan and date. When the current period was discounted, the reminder names why and shows both what you paid and the next renewal price; otherwise it shows the renewal price. It also reminds you how to turn renewal off before it charges.

If you upgrade your plan mid-month, the unused value of your current plan, the same number the refund button shows, is automatically credited toward the upgrade, and the upgrade starts a fresh month at the new tier. Nothing you paid for evaporates when you climb.

I reserve the right to raise or lower rates as needed to maintain the sustainability of the company. A price change never touches the month you have already paid for, and it can never surprise you: renewal is opt-in, so a new price applies only to periods you choose to buy after the change. Price changes are posted on the announcements tab, and emailed to you if you have subscribed to emails.

Once payments launch, the account page will expose the applicable self-service refund and cancellation controls. Fraudulent payment abuse may result in proportionate account restrictions, but nothing in these terms limits any right provided by law, the card networks, or the payment processor.

10. Unsubscribing, leaving, freezes, and bans

Once subscriptions are live, you may turn renewal off at any time. Your plan will end at the close of its paid period and your stories will remain readable for as long as the service exists. Turning renewal off is not the same as closing your account. You can request account deletion from the account page after exporting any story you want to keep. Current deletion removes the account and its story records, purges story media that no surviving story or published-world reference still uses, and deletes your custom voices at the voice provider. Records of AI-provider spending are kept in anonymized form, and if the account is frozen when deletion is requested, its enforcement flag records are retained for review. The final privacy policy will explain the lifecycle of media previously shared through a published world. Before paid launch, deletion will also cover temporary media and disclose the expiry of backup copies.

A single confirmed section 3 block stores a flag record but does not restrict the account by itself. Repeated confirmed blocks across rolling time windows freeze the account instead of ending it automatically: stories remain readable, while the shared generation gate blocks new cap-controlled model and media operations. A freeze is a pause rather than a final verdict because automated detection can be wrong.

A frozen user may write to [email protected]. The seven-day appeal window begins when the freeze is recorded and is informational, not an automatic countdown to a ban. A human review of private flagged text requires your permission and a recorded staff reason unless otherwise required by law, and every reveal permanently records the reviewer. Staff may lift the freeze while retaining its flags, exonerate the account by wiping its flags and lifting the freeze, or make a separate human decision to ban it permanently. A ban removes access but deletes nothing, and lifting one is a separate staff action.

11. The service, as is

LoreWind is early-access software from a solo developer, provided as is, without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LoreWind Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

The downloadable Windows and Android apps offered on this site are windows onto the same live service: everything on this page applies inside them exactly as it does in the browser. During early access these builds are unsigned, so your device may warn you before installing; download them only from lorewind.app.

12. Changes

These terms will change as LoreWind grows, and the date above will change with them. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
